Today we went back to Laines nans house and filmed a shot of my record player that I brought with us. The shot was of Oliver picking up a vinyl and taking it out the sleeve in order to put it on the record player to start playing. The idea of this shot was so that it is used at the start of our title sequence ad when the needle hits the record the soundtrack for the title sequence begins. We filmed this shot from two angles so that we can use one or cut from one to the other in the actual title sequence. When we watched this shot back on the camera we were all really pleased with it as it looked really good.
Another shot that we did was Oliver walking past the poppy painting in the dining room. This shot would come after the kitchen shot that we will be filming next time we meet. This shot was really simple. We just set the camera up on a tripod with the painting in the centre and Oliver would just walk across and that's it. For this shot we re-filmed it a few times to achieve the best lighting and then we moved o to the marble rolling.
The tracking shot of the rolling of the marbles was similar to that of the putting on the shoes. What would happen in the shot would be the marbles would be rolled and would hit the side of the memory box before cutting to the memory box shot. As we had already had practice for this kind of shot for the shoes shot we got this down within a couple of shoots.
Todays filming was really successful and we all worked well together all contributing to the ideas and the actually filming of the shots. Next time we meet we plan to film the kitchen scene as well as the memory box shot.
